Once activated, mast cells release certain substances, which can cause you to experience symptoms such as facial flushing, itching, fast heart rate, abdominal cramps, feeling like your heart is racing or missing your heart. Common triggers include alcohol, temperature changes, spicy foods, and certain medications

Systemic mastocytosis is divided into 7 subtypes All common forms develop slowly, while some others develop rapidly Mast cell leukemia and mast cell sarcoma are the rarest forms of systemic mastocytosis
